Our customer service team can find you the perfect coach – from school hire, private coaches, sports teams, corporate coaches, wedding hire, transfers and sightseeing to just about anything else you can think of. All of our coaches come with seat belts and air conditioning and we can also provide cost effective light refreshments onboard, just ask about our catering options.

Our five star coaches put the sunshine in any trip – regardless of the conditions outside. Stretch out, relax, take in a movie or just enjoy the view.

We have covered the country from top to bottom, touring groups large and small, to all sorts of places. Our highly trained, uniformed drivers love a good challenge and can deliver the most demanding of travel schedules. From the moment you step on board one of our five star coaches, the fun begins. Guests experience the best in individual climate controls, reclining seats with lots of leg room, onboard DVD player and large viewing screen at the front of the coach, onboard bathroom, onboard PA system to enjoy driver commentaries, lots of luggage capacity and twin doors to avoid long queues. We can also light cater your trip if required – just ask.

All our drivers have passed our rigorous driver training programme and that’s no easy task!

We have 50 full time and 100-plus part time and casual drivers. Reliable and punctual, they pride themselves on their local knowledge and their great sense of humour. Our drivers have undertaken stringent training to ensure our guests not only have a fantastic experience, but are also in the safest hands possible, having all done defensive and hazardous driver training and certification. We even have special driver accreditation for the Milford Road and snow and ice conditions, as well as certificates in long distance passenger driving. And in case of emergency, they have first aid training.

Environmental Best Practice

Johnston’s Coachlines has taken the lead in meeting tough new exhaust emission standards set by Vehicle Testing New Zealand (VTNZ) by volunteering our coaches to be regularly tested by their independent testers.

Annual emission testing by VTNZ will ensure that vehicle engines are kept at peak efficiency with minimal harmful exhaust emissions.

This rating is given to companies which are able to demonstrate credible and visible practices to reduce their environmental impact and improve their environmental management.
